Ben Drake, PresidentBen Drake – President

Ben Drake is the president of Impact Technology Group, LLC and a partner at Dent Moses, LLP, where he spearheaded the original formation of ITG as a technology consulting company to serve the firm’s clients. His specialties are strategic planning, project management, process improvement, business management and operations. He also leads the company’s sales and marketing activities.

Ben has a passion for technology and business – small and medium businesses in particular. He finds immense satisfaction meeting the people who own and run these companies and helping them leverage sophisticated technology tools and strategies to accomplish their business goals.

Prior to beginning his leadership role at ITG, Ben served in information technology positions including Network Manager at Synovus Mortgage, IT director at EDPM, Inc. and IT Director at Dent Moses, LLP. He brings a total of 21 years of technology experience, with nine years in his current position, in addition to a broad background encompassing experience in the legal, construction and healthcare industries. This professional breadth provides him with the business insight to design and manage solutions built around the unique needs of each client.

As the quintessential southern gentleman from Tuscaloosa, Ben enjoys a traditional assortment of personal interests and hobbies: fishing, shooting, hunting, good food and wine, quality American whiskies, football and golf. He is a member of The Club in Birmingham, Alabama and like all right-thinking people, a fan of the late Johnny Cash. Ben and his wife, Holly, have two children and live in Hoover, Alabama.

Scott Allen, Vice President

Scott Allen – Vice President

Scott Allen serves Impact Technology Group, LLC as the company’s Vice President. His areas of focus are business management, infrastructure design, project management, virtualization, vendor management and technical sales. Scott manages and trains the technical team who provides ITG’s top-notch customer service and infrastructure support to our clients, helping them develop customized IT solutions.

With 13 years of experience in IT, Scott has held previous positions that include network technician, network administrator and system administrator. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Management Information Systems from Auburn University. In addition, he earned VMWare’s VCP accreditation in 2009 and has completed training in Cisco Routing and Switching.

A native of Trussville, Alabama, Scott spent a summer working for a telecom group and the experience sparked his lifelong interest in technology. He takes great pleasure in helping people with their technology needs, bringing solutions that allow them to accomplish their goals and helping them reach new levels of understanding and mastery over the tools they use each day.

Today Scott lives in Springville, Alabama with his wife and two sons. He enjoys sports and outdoor activities in his free time, including boating, fishing, hunting and traveling.

matt-bradshawMatt Bradshaw – Systems Administrator

Matt Bradshaw is Systems Administrator at Impact Technology Group, LLC, where he exhibits an uncanny ability to quickly analyze an environment, identify the needs and spot any potential issues as he matches clients with apt solutions. His specialties include customer service, networking, virtual infrastructures, network design and windows server platforms.

Matt holds VCP5-DCV accreditation from VMware. His years of IT-related experience include sales, implementation, and support for various infrastructures, with a balance of technical focus and client-facing support.

Growing up in Clay, Alabama, Matt soon learned that he enjoyed playing around with technology. A career doing something that felt like fun seemed like the obvious choice, and he went on to graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in Information Systems. He continues to find the ever-changing field of technology satisfying, as there is always something new to learn.

Matt and his wife Samantha live in Trussville, Alabama. In his spare time, he relaxes by watching basketball and football. Matt also enjoys playing basketball and volunteers with the East Central Homeschool Organized Sports as an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. In fact, his team was a part of the 2014 Alabama Christian Schools Conference JV Basketball Championship team. Go Patriots!

Larry Franks

Larry Franks – Technical Support Specialist

Larry Franks serves Impact Technology Group in the role of Technical Support Supervisor, providing technical support, direction, supervision and leadership to members of the helpdesk group. His focus is on matching the diversified skills of the helpdesk support group to the unique and urgent needs of the client. Larry strives to guide support specialists to effectively utilize the help desk problem management process of identifying, evaluating, responding, and resolving help requests to ensure timely and accurate responses while emphasizing the Impact Technology Groups’ mission of a client-focused attitude. He has experience in accounting and IT helpdesk environments as well as in-depth knowledge of various IT infrastructures.

A native of Birmingham, Larry has always been intrigued by technology. He decided to pursue his longstanding interest at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems with a concentration in Forensic Accounting and IT Auditing.

Larry is still fascinated with emerging technologies and the many ways to use them for problem-solving in business and other areas. He relishes the chance to continually learn about new technology while providing effective and responsive customer service to clients.

When not working or exploring new tech toys, Larry is an enthusiastic recreational and competitive bass fisherman. He is a member of Blue Eye Bassmasters and was a member of the 2014 Alabama Bass Nation State Team. One day he hopes to take a trip to the Maldives – a veritable fishing paradise!

josh-avantJosh Avant – IT Support Supervisor

Josh Avant is an IT Support Specialist at Impact Technology Group. He holds CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications and brings extensive experience in network and server administration, Cisco networking, VMware server virtualization and troubleshooting and maintenance in both PC and Macintosh environments.

Having served in the Marine Corps for five years as a Data Network Specialist, Josh is currently pursuing a degree in Network Systems Administration. During his stint in the Corps, he spent two years living in Japan and earned the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

A native of Alabaster, Alabama, Josh started out working for his father and found that he thoroughly enjoyed computers, so he made the decision to join the military and pursue an IT career. The constant challenges and new developments keep Josh motivated and learning each day.

When not at work, Josh enjoys shooting, gaming (Call of Duty, naturally), exploring Linux applications and spending time with his wife, daughter and the family’s two dogs at their home in Alabaster. Josh is more well-rounded than the techie stereotype might lead some to believe: he enjoys cooking and is known for an awesome breakfast.
